Amazing Learning Happening!
This is just a preview of the amazing learning opportunities that our teachers are provided our students in the month of November at HFE!
5th Grade 3D Designing in Tinkercad
5th grade students are doing a mash up with TinkerCad, 3D Printing, and the Augmented Reality Sandbox that we will have on campus in January. Students designed their own object on paper and then in TinkerCad. They then printed it out with our 3D printer and will use it in the AR Sandbox.
3rd grade & 1st grade: Forces and Motion
Students in 3rd and 1st grade are learning about forces and motion. So, they worked together on a science experiment with Hot Wheel cars! We love the cross grade level collaboration! Great teamwork!
Kindergarten- Program Robots with Directional Words
Kindergarten students practiced their directional words by programming Dash to do the directional word.!
4th Grade- Podcasts
Students in 4th grade have started learning through Podcasts and are working on creating their own! They will go through the design process for creating a Podcast on their favorite book. We will record it then post in on our website.
Once students understand the process, they will create a Science Podcast for younger students to enjoy!
1st grade- Mystery Animal Skype!
Students in Ms. Engel's class participated in their first Mystery Animal Skype with their new friends in Kansas. They asked each other yes or no questions to figure out what animal the other class chose.
3rd Grade- STEM Turkey Transfer
Students in Mrs. DiGiovanni's class participated in a STEM Turkey Transfer the day before Thanksgiving break! They had to collaborate to figure out how to move the turkey from one side of the room to the other!
2nd graders: Skypeathon with an author!
Students in 2nd grade participated in the Skypeathon! In this picture they are skyping with an author to learn more about the writing process!
4th and 5th grade Robotics Club
Students in Thursday's Robotics Club programmed Dash to go through different mazes that they created with Keva Blocks!
