A Message From the Paredes School Counselors
Hello Parents:
We are so happy to see students back in the classroom and hallways as they are adjusting to the first few weeks in school. Even as the pandemic remains a concern, we are all doing our best to work through the challenges in a positive way that will be helpful to the students.
During the last week of August, the counselors were able to make a short video introduction about what counselors do to assist students. This was done during the students advisory class. Part of our goal this year will be to focus on character word themes each month and reflect on some examples for students to practice.
We are also doing our best to assist students through schedule change requests. We appreciate you and your students patience through the process.

No Place for Hate Pledge
Paredes Middle School has been participating in the No Place for HateĀ® Campaign for the past 4 years. It is a student-driven initiative aimed at working together as a school community to show that intolerance, bullying, and hatred are not acceptable on our campus.
Our school has the opportunity to become designated as No Place for HateĀ® by completing three school wide activities during the school year. More information regarding this will follow soon.
We begin this initiative by introducing the No Place For Hate Pledge (shown below) and discussing the importance of accepting every person's differences, appreciating and valuing the uniqueness of individuals, and not criticizing others for those differences. This will be presented to the students on Monday mornings during their advisory time in the month of September.
This campaign is also part of Social Emotional Learning.
