October Newsletter 2022!
A Spooktacular Month!
Read to Achieve
Read to Achieve: We will be starting our Read to Achieve Portfolio Assessments this month. We will take one week to learn strategies to read and answer the questions of an instructional passage. The next week we will take 3 assessments on that same standard, each worth 5 points. They must score 11 points total to pass the standard. If they do not pass the standard that week, we will revisit it later.
Multiplication Facts
Please be looking in their homework folder next week for their 2's multiplication facts. We are starting the process of memorizing our facts. I need your help with this, it has been my experience that the students who know their facts will have more success with solving their math problems. They will have a 1-minute test on Friday of each week to see if they can complete 13 facts in a minute. If they can, they move on to the next number. They will be responsible for learning their facts 1-10. Thank you so much for your support with this!
