Smart Watches and Electronics Reminder
Families, this is just a friendly reminder about smart watches. We have been having issues with students wearing smart watches and calling/texting parents or receiving text messages during the day. Please have students leave smart watches at home.
The LVISD District student code of conduct prohibits the use of electronic devices such as cell phones and smart watches. If a student wears a smart watch to school the teacher will ask for him/her to put it away in their backpack or it will be turned into the office. This is the same practice we use for cell phones and all other communication devices.
LVHS FFA Coloring Contest
From our LVHS FFA...
The Lago Vista FFA is hosting Texas FFA Week and wants to get LVIS involved! The LVHS FFA is hosting a coloring contest for our students. There will be local winners with a prize from LVHS FFA and then the winning entry will compete at the State level.
The coloring page is due by February 20th. Please have students return to the office. The winner will be announced February 23rd.
Teachers will send out coloring pages out in the Wednesday Folders.
Take Care of Texas Art Contest
At LVIS, we have some AMAZING artists! I want to encourage students to participate and enter the “Take Care of Texas Kids Art Contest.” The Contest is a fun way for K-5 students to learn about protecting the environment and come up with creative ways to share this knowledge with others! This year's theme is all about recycling. All artwork must depict positive ways to take care of the environment by recycling in addition to containing the phrase “Take Care of Texas”
The prizes include a tablet or laptop computer. Good luck Vikings! For more information, visit the website at https://takecareoftexas.org/index.php/kids/k-5-art-contest
