WILDCAT NEWSLETTER vol. 28

Wishing you a fun and relaxing summer break

GUEST MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Mary Helen Guest Elementary School, in cooperation with the community, is to educate all children in a caring environment so that every student is a knowledgeable, resourceful and self-reliant individual able to adapt and contribute productively to our changing society.

Dear Mary Helen Guest Families,

The staff and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for making this year a memorable and successful school year. Your support and dedication helped make Guest a wonderful place to learn and grow. Together, we worked as a team to create new memories and traditions. We are proud of our accomplishments and for upholding high standards for all children. Our community cares deeply about quality instruction and celebrating the richness of our diversity. We achieved excellence by maintaining a school, home, and community partnership.

I would also like to take this opportunity to tell you it continues to be an honor serving as your principal. Thank you for your support and guidance. My unwavering commitment to our students and community is something you can always count on each and every day.

As summer vacation begins, relax and enjoy your family and friends. We all wish you continued success and look forward to seeing you in September.

If you find that you have any questions over summer vacation, please feel free to contact me by calling or sending a text or email. Have a peaceful vacation.

Fondly,

THINK-A-PALOOZA - DON'T LET 'SUMMER SLIDE' HAPPEN TO YOUR STUDENT

Optional Summer Academic Assignments

For students, summer is a time for fun, play, and work. It is also the time when learning often takes a back seat and important skills can fall victim to the 'summer slide.' Research shows that during summer break, students may forget many of the skills and concepts learned during the school year.

Our Think-a-Palooza site is designed for parents and students to explore all kinds of learning activities and resources. Check back frequently as content is being added to the Think-a-Palooza site often. Our friend, Wally the Walled Lake Robot, will provide encouragement and words of wisdom to kids as they visit the site.
