Very Important Bus and Car rider information: Please read!
Dear Arrowhead Families,
With school beginning in a short few weeks, it is important for us to apprise you of the following matters so that you can best plan for a successful start of the 2022-2023 SY – in our new Arrowhead Elementary School.
This communication covers:
· Status of Construction
· Student Arrival/Dismissal
· Limited Parking
Status of Construction
The new school building will be ready for the first student day on August 30. We anticipate meeting substantial completion and receiving the occupancy permit soon. However, while we will be able to use the school, it will not be complete. Many cosmetic matters will be worked on towards final completion in the next few months. More specifically, the building will have in place all of the safety, security, and operational measures to ensure a safe and appropriate learning environment for your children.
The new landscaping will NOT be complete. In fact, it will take several months for all the paving, grass and other landscaping to be completed. This means that there will be challenges for several months into the school year with parking and arrival/dismissal. For details, please see the next section: Student Arrival/Dismissal
Student Arrival/Dismissal
The diagram below helps visualize the procedure for arrival and dismissal. Cars will NOT be allowed in the bus loop during arrival and dismissal. The Active Construction Zone, in grey (the old Arrowhead building) requires several months to complete tear down, remediation, and construction of parking, roadways, vegetation, etc., to provide the additional access for cars. Until this time (November/December), the administration is HIGHLY RECOMMENDING that STUDENTS RIDE THE BUS.
While staff will be on hand to assist students that still require to be dropped off/picked up by car at arrival and dismissal, the temporary student drop off/pick up location, marked with the RED circle, is approximately 105 feet from the side entrance. As a result, this will extend the time and frustration for all involved in the pickup and drop off process. We HIGHLY REDCOMMEND that your CHILD RIDES THE BUS.
Limited Parking
In order to manage through the next several months, please know that there will be limited parking on this campus. As such, we will make every effort to leverage other parking locations for events such as kindergarten orientation, back to school night and other similar events. Be on the lookout for those instructions closer to the events.
With the school construction site, there is limited parking around Arrowhead. As such, the bus loop will not be accessible between the hours of 8:30-9:15 and from 3:00-3:45. For students who arrive to school after the 9:05 start time or students who will need to be picked up early for an appointment, families may park in the bus loop. Be mindful of the times listed above. If you are parked in the loop during these times we will ask you to kindly move your vehicle. We thank you in advance for your cooperation. This will be a temporary solution until our new parking lot and student drop areas are completed. More information about the status of our building project, i.e. parking lot, student drop off, etc.. will be shared at a later date.
Sincerely,
Dr. Aaron Roberts

Car Rider Information and Google Document Form
As previously communicated we highly recommend that our students and families consider riding the bus due to the construction, parking, and traffic flow issues associated with new construction. However, we understand that this may not be possible for all students and families. As such, if your child/ren will be car riders for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year, please fill out the google document form.
You can access and complete the car rider form below:

Families who qualify for free/reduced meals are eligible to participate in the Backpack Program. Please contact the school counselor if you would like to register your child for the Backpack program.
