South Bay District News for the Week of April 25th

Summer School 2022 - DUE FRI. 4/29

Summer School will be offered for all SBUSD students that will be returning to us for the 22-23 school year. Summer School will run June 24-August 5 with academics Monday-Thursday 8:30-1 pm and our enrichment program running 1:00-5:30 Monday-Thursday and 8:00-5:30 Fridays. Summer School is a great option for students and families looking to continue their learning through the summer. Here's the application for you to print and return.

Pine Hill Book Fair 4/25-4/29

Pine Hill's Scholastic Book Fair is this coming week. We hope you will be able to purchase some great books for your kids!

Here are the times the fair will be open:

Monday: 12:50 - 2:00 & 5:30 - 6:30 for the Open House

Tuesday - Friday: 2:30 - 3:30


Students will also be able to shop during their regular library times. Additionally, you can preview the fair and shop online as well, which is a great alternative. CLICK HERE to preview the fair and shop online. You can shop online until May 8. Thanks for supporting your child's literacy and the Pine Hill library at the same time!

CAASPP Testing starts next week

South Bay will begin their CAASPP testing next Tues and Thurs. The testing will last until May 13th. Please make sure your student is arriving at school on time and getting a good night's sleep as well as a healthy breakfast! We appreciate your support as we allow our kids to show us what they know!


Pine Hill's third graders will do their testing in the middle of May.

Open House NEXT Monday!

Open House NEXT Monday!

Our Open House for both Pine Hill and South Bay will be this next Mon. 4/25. Pine Hill's Open House will be from 5:30-6:30 and South Bay from 6:00-7:00. This will allow families with students at both schools to visit both sites! We look forward to sharing with you what we have been working on and the opportunity for you to check out what next year's class will look like.

  • If your family is behind on rent or utilities due to covid we can connect you with the Housing is Key program to possibly get financial assistance.
  • If you or your family are interested in getting vaccinated, we can assist you in the process and offer transportation assistance.
