Sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. For GREAT is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens. - 1 Chronicles 16:23-31

Each week, you as worship leaders have the opportunity to guide the hearts of students into a meaningful worship experience through song. This is time and space that we carve out of our weeks to focus our lives on the ONE who deserves all of our praise and adoration. As many of you know, worship does not just happen on Sunday mornings or Saturday nights. Worship is a lifestyle. What I mean by that is that every moment of everyday is opportunity to worship. Living a life that seeks to remain aware of God's presence throughout the day and that seeks to live with a thankful heart for how He has provided for us is how we cultivate a lifestyle of worship. As you prepare to lead worship on Sundays, keep in mind that what you are doing is so very important and that the KV team is grateful for your commitment to help teach our kids what it means to worship the Lord.

As you prepare to lead worship, take 10 minutes to pray over the students you will be leading. Though you will not know all of their names, let's join together in praying that:

  1. The Lord would prepare their hearts and our hearts to worship God, the one who made us, sustains us and loves us.
  2. That the Holy Spirit would fill the room and us as we lead
  3. Kids would leave knowing that Worship is about praising God for who He is and what He has done.

I know that the weather has been super hot lately and when that happens we typically want to wear things that will keep us cool, like shorts and tanks and so on ( I totally understand!). As you prepare to come and lead worship keep these three B's in mind:

  1. No Butt's
  2. No Boob's
  3. No Belly's

We want to make sure that we are not distracting students from being able to worship because we are showing too much skin. Though it is often unintentional, try to keep in mind the three B's =).
