What do you know about hope? What do you think of when you hear the word “Hope”.

Being socially savvy will help you soar in the classroom, at school, and in life to appropriately respond to others.

Lesson #3 Well Being
How does positive thinking help you feel better?
How do we make sure we have a happy healthy heart?
Who helps you feel safe?
What are some things that you do to stay calm or to help you relax?
What types of exercise can you do to increase your heart rate?
What kind of healthy foods help your brain function at it’s best?
How much rest should you get daily to be healthy?

Healthy and Happy Heart: Students will list ways ways that they will feel safe
The Right Arm: Students will create a list of people who make them feel safe.
The Left Arm: Students will create a list of coping skills to help them when something is bothering them. Examples would be: deep breathing
The Right Leg: Students will understand that exercise is a big part of staying healthy mentally.
The Left Leg: Students will understand that healthy eating and appropriate rest is essential to being healthy
Lesson #4 Mentor
What is a struggle you have had in your life? Think of something that has been difficult for you to learn or do.
How did you overcome this struggle? Did someone mentor or help you through the struggle?”
Everyone has time to be a mentor
It takes time to be a mentor. To be a mentor, you have to have a heart for others. In the “There’s No Place Like Hope” foldable, find the clock heart and list or draw examples of the characteristics of a mentor. List or draw the ways you can be a mentor
