2nd Grade News
with Ms. Przedpelski
Thank you!
Our 2nd grade families are wonderful! Thank you so much for our delicious teacher luncheon today. It was a perfect way to end the week.
Important Information:
1. Homework:
Students are coming home with a homework packet this week. We also will have a Spelling Quiz on Friday! We hope you enjoyed the week off from our regular homework :)
2. Planet Research Project:
This project due on MONDAY, February 27th
Your child should bring their finished product to our classroom on Monday. We will be presenting our projects to each other. I cannot wait to see what we have learned and what we have created for this Planet Research Project. We will spend a few days presenting these projects, and then they will be displayed in the main hallway of the school.
If your child completed a PowerPoint presentation, please email this presentation to me. Also, please send in a printed color copy of this presentation so we can display your child's hard work with their 3D Planet model in the hallway.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
3. Six Flags Read to Succeed:
Six Flags Read to Succeed Logs are DUE! Monday is the last day for your child to turn in their log. If they have completed this log... please send it on Monday!
Dr. Seuss Day is on THURSDAY!
We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss’ Birthday on Thursday, March 2nd. Students will have an awesome time rotating to each 2nd grade classroom to hear a Dr. Seuss story and participate in a thematic activity. This truly cross-curricular celebration will have students practicing math skills, performing science experiments, creating crafts, writing, and (of course) enjoying a day immersed in the fantastic literary world of Dr. Seuss! Students will each have a Dr. Seuss hat goody bag to collect Dr. Seuss themed prizes as they complete activities in each room.
Every student from Pre-K through 10th grade has the option to either dress up as their favorite Dr. Seuss character or wear all black to be the “Cat in the Hat.” A few Dr. Seuss characters and MSO volunteers will be greeting students at the carpool doors to paint whiskers on faces and pass out “Cat in the Hat” hats to anyone who wants one. If students choose not to dress up as a character or wear all black they must be in FSAPS uniform.
Check out the sign-up and see how you can help make this day a success!
