Casual Custodians Needed Starting Pay $17.38/hr

Do you want to work with the best team in the world? Of you course you do, who wouldn't. Good news! We are looking for casual custodians to help out Mr. Rye, Mrs. Samalla, and Mrs. Antazo when they need to be away. I hear it pays pretty good and the people you would work with are awesome. If you would like more information, please contact the school.

Kindergarten Orientation - Looking Forward to the Fall

Last Friday we hosted our Kindergarten orientation (in person again, yay!). It was wonderful to meet all the Kindergarten students and their families. Once again, Chester Raccoon was up to his tricks leaving clues around the school and stamping the hands of the staff. As the future Ks moved from clue to clue, they got to explore the school and meet many of the teachers that they will see next year.

It is always very exciting for me to meet the new Ks and to see the change (even in a couple of hours) from fear to excitement. We had very few tears (Mom or child) and everyone had a great day, which ended with a great watermelon snack.

Thank you to Miss Irving for organizing a great day, Johnston Agencies for once again sponsoring the t-shirts for each student, and most especially all of the families for trusting us with their children. We are very excited to have you as a part of our Bears family.

PAA Seeking Projects

Is there anyone in town wanting to build a detached garage this summer / fall? Would you be interested in having the senior Industrial Arts class build it or be involved in some capacity? We are always looking for authentic ways to involve our kids in learning and in the community. If you are interested, please call the school, and ask for Mr. Riley.

Girls Group Spreads Some Positivity

On Wednesday of last week of grade 6-9 girls' group went around town painting positive messages on the sidewalks. They just wanted to spread some positivity in a time when there isn't always a lot. Huge thanks to Miss Wallen, Miss Hoffus, and Mrs. Osecki for helping to organize the event. The girls' group is looking forward to an evening at Greenwater this coming week.

Grade 9 Cartoon Blowup

As part of grade 9 math, the students use grid patterns to blow up pictures of cartoons. A great way for students to show off their artistic and math skills (factors of scale).

Elementary Greenwater Days

Grade 1 and Grade 12

The class of 2022 was Mrs. Irving's first-ever grade 1 class in the new building, so she invited the grade 12 class to spend some time with her grade 1s. The grade 1s read their books on animals to the grade 12s and the grade 12s read a book of their choice to the grade 1s. Then they all spent some time in the student lounge playing foosball and pingpong. It was great to have some buddy activities happening again. Shout out to our grade 12s for being awesome role models and shout out to our grade 1s for writing some great books.

Grade 7 Mock Parliment

The grade 7 social studies class help a mock parliament as part of their unit on governance in Canada.

We Want Fans in the Stands

We are so happy to be able to invite fans to our home games once again this year. We ask that...

  • You only come if you are feeling well.
  • Sanitize your hands upon entering and frequently while in the building
  • Show our Bears how awesome they are by cheering loudly (albeit through a mask).
  • Be considerate of the choices of others.

Lost and Found is Growing

We have a substantial amount of stuff in our lost and found again. Please have a look and have your child pick up what belongs to them. We will take it all to New 2 U on Friday, May 27.
