4th and 5th Update!

  • Bathrooms and Fencing are expected to be installed in mid to late September.

    • Until the installation is complete, students will be accompanied by a staff member when they need to use the restrooms. Our security guard will also monitor the restrooms to ensure the safety of our younger students.

    • Elementary monitors and/or staff members will always be present when students are out of the classroom.

  • Sr Halima and Mr. Muhammad will be your point of contact for administrative needs; please refrain from bringing matters to the AG admin team.

Middle and High School Uniform Update

Please see the attached uniform slides. Students should have already been purchasing uniforms and are expected to come in uniform on Monday as best as possible.

Some notes below:

Middle School PE Uniform:

Outlined for PE days which are listed on the slides. Students may come to school in the regular uniform on Monday. The uniform is also optional any PE day except for the proper shoes.

High School Girls’ Uniform:

We are happy to inform you that the new uniform will be made by a Muslim seamstress. She will come to AG on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, to collect the girls' sizes with an anticipated completion date of September 20, insha’Allah.

To view the uniform options that may be ordered from approved retailers, click the link below.

Temporary High School Girls’ Uniform:

Choose an outfit that matches the guidelines of loose and long, no jeans to wear EVERY DAY until the uniform is available. Scarves should be uniform since they have always been available.

Friday “Dress-Up for Jumaa”:

Non-uniform day - students can wear “nice” clothes including thobes, dress shirts and pants, abayas, maxi dresses, etc. all following the non-uniform guidelines below. No jeans or other casual clothes will be allowed. Dress UP, not down!

Non-uniform guidelines:

ALL students should follow the Islamic dress code of modesty. Clothing should not be tight or consist of see-through material. Open-toed shoes or sandals are not allowed.

Extreme Weather Considerations:

Due to the layers of the girl’s shirt and jumper, girls could wear a similar, same color non-Lands End shirt that is more lightweight.

In addition, the non-Lands End jumpers for sale in the AG office is lighter than the Lands End and may also help with the heat.

COVID-19 Update

Our school remains committed to the health and safety of all staff and students and will be following the SDCOE guidelines for K-12 schools in our decisions and policies. Please see the key points below:

Face Masks - Face masks are not required but are strongly recommended for all staff and students indoors. Students are to bring in their own masks from home should they choose to wear one, and carry extras in their backpack (in a ziploc bag) in case they get wet or damaged.

Covid Testing in School - We will continue to offer in-school rapid antigen testing for students that register for it.

Parents of returning students received an email from Primary Health on August 15th to sign the consent for their child again this year. You may search for the email with the subject “Complete consent for COVID-19 test” to find the unique link created for each participant and sign the consent . Please don’t share this link with others!

Registration Link for NEW students and staff can be found here.

Staying Home When Not Feeling Well - Please keep your student home if they show flu-like symptoms, or were exposed to someone with COVID-19. A student who had fever should wait 24 hours after the fever has resolved, without any fever-reducing medication, before they return to school!

Quarantine and isolation - Guidelines can be found on the SDCOE decision tree and parents are requested to consult it as the need arises.
