How old do you have to be to:
work- If you're under 15, you may be allowed to work in Victoria
drive- 16 yrs, Victoria
have sex- In Victoria, Australia the law states:
- If you are under 12 years old, no one can have sex with you or perform sexual acts in front of you.
- If you are between 12 and 16 years of age, only people who are no more than two years older than you can do sexual things with you.
- If you are aged 16 or 17, no one who is in a position of care or responsibility can do sexual things with you.
leave school- Once you turn 16 years of age you can leave school but you have to stay in some form of education or training or a combination of work, education and/or training until you turn 17 years old.
leave home- When you are 17 you can leave home if you want to
get your own centrelink benefit- 16 to 21 years old and looking for full-time work or undertaking approved activities. If you do not have a Year 12 Certificate or equivalent qualification, you will have to undertake study or training in order to qualify for Youth Allowance
get married- 18
change your name- A person under the age of 18 cannot register a change to their name unless they are married or have been married
get a tattoo or pierceing- 18
drink buy or carry alcohole- 18
buy cigarettes- 18
buy or carry a wepon- 18
