Family Academic Open House- Tue. 2/9/16 5:30PM-6:30PM

We are excited to open our classroom to the community on Tuesday, February 9. Parents and students will be able to travel from class to class, and grade to grade to learn new strategies for reading, writing, and math! Technology sessions will be offered as well, in the Media Center! Students will have a goal of getting to 6 different rooms (4 on their grade level, and 2 optional others) and turn in their raffle card to get Bethesda Swag on Friday on the announcements!

Classrooms will be all located on the first floor, 4 per grade level. As students and parents are rotating around the school, they have the opportunity to take some good guesses to win groceries and literacy baskets at the end of the night! The closest one to the actual price of the groceries (no tax) and the literacy baskets will win all contents at 6:30. This will be announced at dismissal time. Students/parents must be present to win (they have to stay the whole time).

We will notify classrooms used for the night and teachers assignments to classrooms and games next week. Support staff will have a duty positioned around the school, locations will be sent out next week. A map of the night will be emailed out. Materials will be delivered by Monday, February 8 to assigned classrooms. Questions relating to the Reading, Writing, or Math games, please see your grade level committee chair. Questions about the flow of the night, please ask a coach. All staff members are encouraged to wear spirit wear with blue, black, red, or khaki pants.

Hello everyone,

Please keep this survey going…Dojo again please!. Each one counts in a different way, so please complete it and participate. This survey is a state survey and it counts for CCRPI. As you know, we are trying to get the highest rating. Non-participation or low participation could adversely affect our CCRPI STAR Climate Rating. Last year we were a 5 star rating school. This one we can control!!!

Please Dojo this link out to your parents and let them know this is important for our State school ranking. If you are a Bethesda parent, please complete it asap.
Georgia Parent Survey:http://apps.gadoe.org/schoolclimate/parents.nsf/Survey.xsp

Thanks for your participation right now here is our participation number: Great start!

Bethesda's Strenghts

"Have You Purchased Your Tumbler Yet?"

The Sparkles Dance and Cheer team are hosting a tumbler fundraiser. There are 16 different designs to choose from (animal print, owls, chevron, flowers, elephants, University of Georgia, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Alabama, to name just a few). Each tumbler is $20, we can accept cash or checks (checks made payable to Bethesda Elementary). The fundraiser will be from January 26th - February 9th. The proceeds will go towards a variety of activities and uniforms we would like to provide for our girls. Purchases can be made directly through a cheerleader or dancer. If you would like to support the dance and cheer team, and you don’t have a dancer or cheerleader in your room, have no fear, there will be an order form in the mail room as well as one hanging on Ms. Cochran's classroom door.

Remember our Focus

Analyzing the Standards (Stay true to the standard)

Building Capacity (Lifelong Learner)

Conquering the Workshop Model

Stay on Pacing (Super important)

(Master this first and then continue to build capacity to add on.)

BES Student Council is sponsoring a HAT, SCARF, and GLOVE Donation Drive

Student Council is starting a collection of hats, scarves, and gloves for the Lawrenceville Children's Home. Show your Bethesda spirit and help these kids with warm garments! Donated items should be new. Collection boxes are available in the school hallways until Monday, February 8th. Please encourage your students to participate!

FRI 2/5-Staff Social-Bahamas Breeze

Mark your calendars for next Friday February 5th. We will have a Staff Social at Bahama Breeze in Pleasant Hill after school! Appetizers will be provided! Please let us know if you are attending by clicking on the link below! Looking forward to it!

We are listening!

Please continue to share your perception of our school. Is it really anonymous? YES IT IS! Since it is anonymous, we really can’t follow up when we don’t know specific situations (who, what, when, where, etc.). If you post something and want results, please be as specific as you can, otherwise the situation will continue. Remember, you can come and talk to any of us in confidence. We are here for you and genuinely want the best work environment.

Just like relationships, positive school climate takes work…hard work…we all want the same thing, so let’s work together to get there. Share your thoughts here Click Here to Open or face to face (always best way to communicate).
