APRIL 19 - ACT TESTING DAY for 9th, 10th & 11th GRADERS
On April 19th, all 9th, 10th and 11th graders will be taking an ACT college readiness benchmark assessment.
The purpose of this opportunity is to:
1. Diagnose student strengths and weaknesses relative to ACT college readiness indicators for the purpose of providing instruction and/or remediation for college and work readiness
2. Provide information to students, parents, and counselors regarding future course work selections
3. Meet state expectations set by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) that 11th graders take the statewide ACT.
Specifically, all 9th and 10th graders will be administered an authorized released ACT, while all 11th graders will be taking the statewide ACT test along with the writing section.
Testing will begin promptly 1st hour and will conclude 5th hour.
It is very important that you student be present and ready for ACT testing day. Please mark your calendars to make sure your student is in attendance. We encourage to help share the importance of the ACT as they prepare for their post high school experience.
Where can a parent get information to help my student?
ACT has great online resources for parents and students to help prepare.
You can visit ACT at:
ACT resource for Students and Parents
Is there an ACT workshop opportunity for 11th graders?
Yes. On March 29th and a date in early April, PCHS is offering a workshop for any interested 11th grader who would like to participate. Students who identified that they would be interested in attending, on a survey Dr. Sayre shared previously, are already enrolled to participate. Please talk with your student to verify their response.
If you have any questions about PCHS’s ACT testing day on April 19, please contact the PCHS Counseling Center.
