AVID Focus: The Frayer Model
Quick Review: What is a Frayer Model?
Found under the O (Organization) of WICOR, the Frayer Model is a graphic organizer for building student vocabulary. This technique requires students to define target vocabulary and apply their knowledge by generating examples and non-examples, giving characteristics, and/or drawing a picture to illustrate the meaning of the word.
Last week our staff shared celebrations from each classroom's use of the Frayer Model. We looked at the cross grade level connections for students and how we can continue to build their understanding and application of the Frayer Model. Check out a few of their examples below!
