Students celebrated their fundraising efforts with the Buzzy's Rock and Run last Friday, March 3rd. Please see a few of the memories captured below. Classes worked hard decorating banners to carry onto the track and so many families came to cheer on their bees! There were lots of smiles, sweaty faces, music and laughter. Thank you so much to our IES families for supporting our Rock and Run fundraiser as well as our amazing PTA for planning such an awesome event! We appreciate everyone that participated. All of your contributions helped us meet our goal quickly and then exceed it!

We are happy to announce that this year’s Rock ‘N Run raised a total of $27, 343!

Your support will allow us to complete the special project for the year, providing a shade structure on the field for students and staff to enjoy for many years to come. That area stays bright and sunny all of the time. Students and their teachers can now enjoy having a shady spot to rest during recess, field day, class events etc.

Our IES Bees are beginning their Jump Rope unit and we have a tradition to tie it in to the American Heart Association to help bring awareness and support of “Heart Health.”

During this unit, your child(ren) will receive and bring home information regarding making donations online to the American Heart Association and recognizing Irmo Elementary School as an American Heart Association - Heart Healthy School. Please see the flier linked below.

• We have chosen two back to back dates for capacity reasons and split them up by the student's last name.
• Students with the last names beginning with A-J are invited to bring their one special breakfast buddy on 3/29 and students with a last name that begins with K-Z on 3/30.
