Maximizing Student Growth While Creating Positive Memories
Welcome to South Elementary!!!!
Our first day of school will be August 7th! Below is more information about all of the things you need to know in preparation for the 2019-20 school year.
To get a feel for South Elementary, you can take a look at the following two videos. One was made to capture the spirit of our school year last year and one was created to share with our incoming third graders so that they know what to expect. Enjoy!
We look forward to seeing you all soon! It's going to be a great year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Noe
Classroom and Teacher Assignment
Not Coming Back?
Open House, Tuesday, August 6th!!!
First Day of School
Doors open- 7:25 a.m.
Tardy bell- 7:40 a.m.
Dismissal- 2:25. p.m.
Opening Day
To help with easing dismissal jitters, please make sure your child and their teacher knows exactly where the child is to go after school. Students and teachers should know if they are to be car riders, bus riders or walkers. Teachers will double check in the morning, and again at the end of the day, to make sure everyone knows where they need to go.
School Supplies
If you have purchased your own supplies, please bring those on the evening of the open house or as you are able to send them in with your child.
If any families are in need of school supply assistance, please contact southoffice@danville.k12.in.us and let us know of your needs.
The school supply list can be found on our webpage at www.danville.k12.in.us under parent and student resources.
Car Riders
At the end of the day, students will not be released to their car until the car is along the sidewalk and they must enter the PASSENGER side of the vehicle.
Destination Changes
For our bus riders, students will be limited to two possible bus destination addresses. Parents will complete a Google form prior to or during our Open House to help ensure we have the correct destination information for each day of the week. This Google form will be emailed to parents as soon as it is available.
Safe Routes to school
Breakfast and Lunch
Beginning the first day of school, students may choose to get a grab and go breakfast from our cafeteria. The regular price for breakfast is $1.50. Students will “check in” at their classrooms first, pick up breakfast from the cafeteria, and then take it back to the classroom to eat prior to the start of the day’s activities.
The cost of lunch for students is $2.75. Students are allowed to buy “extras.” Please discuss with your child if they are allowed to purchase these extra items or not. If any guests plan to join your child for lunch throughout the year, please notify the front office.
Lunch 1 (McDugle, Legan, Amor, Russell, Vrabel)- 11:00-1130
