Surface Fabric Design
26-27-28-29-30 August, 2017 with Irit Dulman
At first students will learn multi layers techniques of natural printing to create images with more depth and textures. You will learn how to combine the leaves with their own characteristics . We will dye with madder, cochenille, indigo, weld, logwood, eucalyptus and walnut.
When the students get to know the plants in the area and the marks on fabrics as silk, wool, cotton and viscose, as well they start to achieve control on the techniques than we will start to explore the different formats of fabrics and compositions of layout leaves to create surface design with depth and colour. Composition excercise will be given.
The last part of the workshop will be when the students are ready to create. Much more freedom in fabrics sizes will be aloud, t-shirts, simple garments or your own cutted pieces of pattern (and sew them back home)
About Irit Dulman
Irit Dulman works in her studio in Givatayim, just outside TLV, but her inspiration seems to lack borders of time and place. Her colours, textures and designs are sensually bold, seductive, introvert as well as daring. There is nothing obvious in her work, for it has it’s own reason and feminine insight
disclamer : Images are not exemplary of products that will be exactly made by participants
