"Don't Sweat the Small Stuff . . . and It's All Small Stuff" Richard Carlson
I’m not sure I always agree with this statement and this week I’ve felt the effects of how much that small stuff, when repeated, can become a much bigger deal. Sleep is a great example of this for me. If I am busy and stay up too late one night getting work done, doing laundry, answering emails, scrolling through social media, or reading just one more chapter of my book, no big deal. The amount of sleep I lose any given night does not affect me much; I can survive on five hours of sleep - I had triplets, I didn’t sleep for months! But when I stay up too late and only get five hours of sleep three or four nights a week, I am exhausted and the result is I’m not my best. I’m not giving my family, my work, or myself the best me.
The small stuff, the choices and decisions we make hundreds of times a day without much thought are a big deal because they do impact how we feel, what we do, and how we do it. If we gave the small stuff the same attention we give the big stuff, would we be better off? Every choice, every decision small or large leads us in a specific direction. We often spend a lot of time mulling over the big stuff that comes our way and stressing because we don’t want to make the wrong decisions, but it’s easy to tackle the small stuff without much thought and let those small decisions slide into bad habits, apathetic attitudes, or complacency.
The We Are One discussion thread this week on Canvas was great and demonstrated again how many committed, passionate educators we have at CN Jr/Sr HS each with their own way of viewing, expressing and impacting our school community. That commitment and passion, the common We Are One focus of wanting to do the right thing for all students - that’s the big stuff isn’t it? So what’s the small stuff at CN? Is that small stuff, the decisions we make day to day, individually and as a whole, aligned with the big stuff, leading us in the same direction, or are we letting the small stuff get in the way and distract us from where we want to be?
Grateful Friday Challenge
Ask yourself, with each decision (big or small) this coming week, is this choice going to take me where I want to go? Is this leading our staff, our school to be "One"?

The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Committee has submitted
their 10 finalists for the Lily Scholarship
and 5 of the 10 finalists are from Central Noble!
Congratulations to this outstanding group of seniors
Erika, Paige, Delaney, Zach, and Reggie
and thank you to all of you who have had
a positive impact on their academic careers!
(We've arranged for a better picture on Monday with everyone physically present)
Mrs. Perlich
Even when the days are hectic and the office is crazy, Diane will get everything done and more. She can be tough, makes kids tow the line, but if you ask some of the IMPACT boys that sign in daily they will tell you she's a sweetheart!
Mrs. Lortie
Megan not only manages the office with Mrs. Perlich and keeps us all going in the right direction, she helps to head up the Morale Team, is helping to lead HS Student Council, and gives of her time and talents to make CN a great place to be!
Mrs. Earnhart
She has jumped right in as a member of the CN Jr/Sr High team and is doing a wonderful job! Make sure you check out that custom ordered burgundy bling CN sweatshirt she is wearing - if that's not commitment to being here, I don't know what is! We are glad you are here! Go Cougars!
Thank you for joining us for floats! It's nice to spend some time together just relaxing and indulging in sweet treats!
