Tibits of Info

  • Dr. Brown was impressed with what he saw at our school this past week! Thanks to everyone that had bulletin boards ready with TEKS attached. Very nice job!
  • All T-TESS goal meetings and forms in Appraise should be completed and submitted by September 11. It is up to you to sign up with your evaluator. There are several people that have not signed up yet and we have a very short week! Also, I have had some goal meetings with staff members that have not submitted their goals even though they have been set.
  • Friendly reminder about public calendars: If a grade level or a teacher has already signed up on any of the public calendars, do NOT sign up "over" them. The first one signed up gets the reserved area. Thanks!
  • The computer labs have not been reserved for WIN times on Fridays. I know that we have computer in the rotation on Wednesdays so only one lab is available. I can't change that day in the rotation due to the fact that we only have Richard on Tues./Thurs. and library on Mon./Friday. I am open to changing WIN to Mon./Tues./Thurs./Fri. if that would work better.
  • Our fundraiser began last week: World's Finest Chocolate. Please be sure to send permission slips/money up at the beginning of the day so that Traci can get candy distributed. This is our biggest fundraiser for the year, so please be sure to publicize it in your notes home to parents.
  • Please consider helping getting our leveled library "cleaned and sorted" so that we can start checking out books for guided reading. We received many new books and Tori, Traci's daughter, got all of the those books bagged and organized for us before school began. This was a BIG job! Be sure to thank Tori when you see her. We have some older books that still need to be leveled. If we have lots of people helping then it will go faster. If you have a smart phone you can download Scholastic Wizard. It is a free ap that can identify the level of most books. We got three new shelves in there and we have plenty of boxes. Everyone that helps gets a free jeans week the week of September 14th!
  • Any questions that you have for Dr. Brown for the SCC meeting should be to Sheri McLaughlin by Sept. 10th so she can submit them Mark Thomas.
