November 8th-12th

Happy Veterans Day!!!

Thank you to all Panther parents/guardians who served in the United States Armed Forces.

United Way Campaign

United Way of South Hampton Roads motto is "We bring people and resources together to solve problems too big for any of us to solve alone." Donations go towards local United Way, such as Mission United, which supports our veterans, active-duty military, and their spouses. There are organizations in our area that benefit from United Way Contributions: Isle of Wight Christian Outreach, Luter Family YMCA, Education Foundation for Isle of Wight Public Schools, Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia, The Genieve Shelter, Western Tidewater Free Clinic, WHRO, and local scouting councils.

Our school goal is $2,500. Our staff has already contributed almost $1,800. We want to extend this to the rest of our Panthers (students) to contribute to help us to exceed our goal.

Our students may contribute any monetary amount from now until November 10, 2021. Cash and checks made payable to United Way. There is an SMS Homeroom United Way Challenge. The highest contributing 7th and 8th-grade homerooms will celebrate with a pizza party, cupcakes, and drinks.

So far, we've exceeded our $2,500 goal. Ms. Burke's 7th-grade homeroom class is still leading with donations of $137.00. Ms. Williams' 8th-grade homeroom class is still leading with donations of $151.00. This could all change with your Panther donating by Wednesday, November 10th.

Visit to learn more.

In advance, thanks for your contributions.
