Principal's Post
Hello, Parkwood Families!
We have almost completed the first quarter of the 2020-2021 school year! It is great to see our students working and learning. It is wonderful to watch the creativity and dedication of our teachers as they instill the desire to learn and grow with our students at school and online.
Students in grades 1-5 have completed their first round of MAP testing. The data gathered from this assessment is one more tool to help guide our instruction. Teachers are preparing for parent conferences, updating data about student progress and gathering examples of student work so you can see how hard your child(ren) work each day.
I would like to thank all of our parents and PTO members who worked so hard to make Parkwood’s Boosterthon a HUGE success! As of today, we have raised $12,259!
Parkwood's PTO Virtual Book Fair starts this Friday, October 2. Please see the flyer below.
Please update all information on One View. This information has to be updated every year.
As the weather gets colder, please make sure your child(ren) wear a jacket or coat. We will be going outside for recess unless the “feels like” temperature is below 20 degrees. Their name needs to be written on the inside of the coat just in case it makes it to the lost and found. Our lost and found bin/rack is located by our nurse’s office.
Thank you for sharing your children with us!

State of the Schools: Thursday, October 15
Superintendent Paul Otten will host a video State of the Schools event. He will discuss the impact of COVID-19 to our district both educationally and financially, state cuts during the COVID crisis and the overall work and planning of the district including a financial update for the community. Some of that update will include information about the school district’s zero tax increase ballot issue which will appear on the November 3 ballot.
Learn more on our website and join us on October 15 at 6:30pm for a comprehensive report on the state of our schools. This event will be live streamed through the district’s website, gocreek.org.
Information about registering to vote and how to vote is available at: www.VoteOhio.gov.
