Woodland Park Academy
Back To School Newsletter 2022
Welcome Back! A Message from Mrs. Martin, Principal
Hello Woodand Park Academy Families!
Welcome to the 22-23 school year! We are so excited to have students back! At Woodland Park Academy we are partnering with families and providing diverse educational opportunities to inspire our children to change the world! As a community it is vital that we are all working together; parents, students, and staff, to accomplish this mission.
Woodland Park is happy to welcome you back to some new and exciting things! First, enjoy a ride down our freshly paved parking lot! Next, we are so lucky to welcome a few new staff members to our amazing team! Check out their profiles below!
This year, all parents will need to update their student's information through ParentVue in Synergy electronically. After updates, this app will allow you to access your child's attendance, grades, and schedule, and will also keep the most important information about your child updated.
We look forward to seeing you at the Pop In for Popsicles event on August 24 between 5-7 pm. Plan to "pop in" to see your child's classroom and meet the teacher. Then head to the gym for a popsicle, dress code swap, and visit some tables to learn more about WPA and our community partners. There will be time to learn about our curriculum and the teacher's expectations at Curriculum Night, September 14, from 5-7 pm.
Once you finish reading this, please do 1 important thing; Register your child in ParentVUE! Registrations must be complete before the first day of school.
I look forward to partnering with you to provide high-quality education and environment for your child. We are going to have an amazing year!

Bus Parent Pro Tip
If your child is riding the MTA bus, download "LIFE360" to their phone so you know where they are and how close they are to their stop.
Please add MTA's dispatch number to your phone 810-695-8917. This number is helpful to have if your child's bus is running behind. The operator will need to know your student's bus route and stop name to assist you.

First Day of School Jitters...
The GREAT NEWS is that ALL students enrolled at our school can receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at NO CHARGE to your household each day.
In place of the Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application, we still need your household to fill out and sign the Household Information Report. This report is critical in determining the amount of money that our school receives from a variety of State and Federal supplemental programs.
