Christmas Parade and Decorate the City Christmas Tree

Saturday, Dec. 13th, 5pm

Line-up for the parade starts at 4:30 pm (in front of the library) with the Parade starting at 5:00 pm - come see the Hwy 5 Marching Band (Howe, Van Alstyne & Anna high school bands), cool floats, dancing firefighters, motorcycles, and Santa. Kids - bring a letter addressed to Santa to give to the Post Office employees as they come by in the parade (don't forget to include a return address so you can receive a handwritten reply!) Paris Palacios will be the parade emcee.

After the parade, come to the downtown area to enjoy hot chocolate & cookies, Christmas songs shared by the Summit Church with special vocalist Mattie Ansley. Help decorate our city Christmas tree.....bring a biodegradeable ornament to decorate the tree (maybe something with birdseed) and celebrate the lighting of the Howe Christmas Tree.

Breakfast with Santa

Saturday, Dec. 13th, 8-11am

Howe Elem/Middle school Cafeteria

Join the Howe Volunteer Fire Department for this annual event. Breakfast starts at 8:00 am. The cost is $5 or bring a new unwrapped toy. Proceeds and toys will be given to local children to brighten their holidays. Don't miss this popular event - hang out with our awesome volunteer firefighters and see St. Nick too!

Storytime @ the library with Santa

Santa is coming by the library to share a story or two with children of all ages. There will be plenty of time to visit with Santa and take pictures. Also, a holiday craft to make and cookies to decorate and eat! Event is FREE!

Ms. Peggy's Porch

Ms. Peggy's Porch has lots of warm coats and clothes for anyone in need. All items are free! The Porch will be open the next two Saturdays - Dec. 13 & 20 from 9-11:00 am. It is located behind City Hall. Please pass the word - let's take care of our friends & neighbors and make sure no one (big or small) is cold this winter.
