Family Feature of the Week
Matter of the Heart
Dear RHS Families
I am delighted to introduce the recipients of our Matter of The Heart awardees. The Matter of the Heart Breakfast Recognition Program is now in its 15 years, and it was first brought in by our (at the time) Assistant Principal, Ms. Gia San Martin. The Matter of the Heart breakfast is to recognize outstanding students from the first trimester. The nomination focuses primarily on good deeds our teachers have noticed students doing for others. However, students might also be nominated for good citizenship, improved attendance, ongoing academic excellence, homework completed, improved grades, etc. If your student is the recipient of this award, congratulations. It would be much appreciated if you could provide transportation for them to attend on Friday, December 15, from 7:00 am to 8:20 am. Students will receive their glamorous medals and a certificate. Finally, families will be receiving a Matter of the Heart Group Picture. Again, congratulations to your student.

Announcements
We would like to apologize for any inconvenience
Delay of last week's newsletter and reminder messages going out
Our RHS Newsletter is scheduled to go out around midnight every Friday evening. Within 30 min., at around 12:30am, I am able to see that at least 10-12 people have accessed it. Then over the weekend, of course, I am able to see the number grow. Last weekend, that didn't happen. I tried to think about why that might be, for example, Friday was a day that was in between first tri and 2nd tri.
When I arrived at school last Monday, I informed our registrar, who is kind enough to set the schedule for the newsletter to go out every week, that I had received 0 readers. She sent it out again at 8am on Monday. Nope, still no readers, Tuesday morning, I contacted the District, and they were able to determine that, for some reason, the email sending feature of Skyward was down for us, and the rest of the district. Unfortunately, once it was able to send out the newsletter and other reminder announcments out, like "No School Tomorrow," it did. This prompted several of you to send us a text asking what's going on? Again, we apologize for any inconvenience, this was beyond our control. This afternoon, we were informed that it has now been fixed.
IN ADVISORY THIS WEEK:
During advisory on Friday 12/8, students completed the College and Career Climate Survey. This is a Road Map survey that helps us understand students’ perception of how they receive or access information about post-secondary options.
The data from this survey will help the CCLI team understand our students’ experiences of our current practices around college and careers, and how we can improve our delivery of post-secondary information so that it is more accessible to all of our students.
Our goal is to get above 80% of completion. Please encourage all students to complete this survey for an opportunity to be entered into a raffle for a chance to win college gear, a gift card, or a Yearbook. We will be selecting one student per grade level.

Recently, Journalism students from Ms. Lisa Richards class updated our digital school newsletter known as the Hawk Eye. Have some article ideas you would like to share with her students? Email Ms. Richards. She and her students would love to hear from you.
Please mark this link as a favorite and check it out this from time to time to see what is being presented on the RHS website from our students’ perspective. https://rhshawkeye.com/
