8th Grade State Festival Success!
Our 8th grade band played their hearts out and earned a Division 2 rating from the judges signifying an excellent performance. We are so proud of these students for dedicating so much time and energy to this music and performing with such great attitudes. We are excited to see what's next from these band members as they move into the high school program. They have set the stage for future middle school ensembles to perform at these high-level festivals.
Well Done Shamrocks!
High School State Festival Success!
The High School Band earned straight 1's from the judges for a final rating of Division 1. This rating signifies a superior performance and is the highest musical level a band can earn from MSBOA. Our students performed with beauty, finesse and energy. The judges complemented their balance, sensitivity, and beautiful tone.
This group of students surpassed all expectations and had a stellar musical year. They:
1. Earned straight 1's at the MSBOA District 6 Marching Band Festival
2. Earned 1st place in class C and Best Music at the Vicksburg Marching Invitational
3. Earned 1st place in class C, Best Music, Best Marching, and Best Auxiliary at the Lakeshore Marching Invitational
4. Earned straight 1's at the MSBOA District 6 Concert Band Festival
5. Earned straight 1's at the MSBOA State Concert Band Festival
They had a PERFECT year.
These kids play with heart, determination, and skill. They are amazing students as well as musicians, representing our community with honor. This 2018-2019 Band has created a remarkable legacy and I am most proud to have the honor of teaching them.
Thank you, Shamrocks. ~Mrs. Rosselit
