Important Information
First Grade- Reese's
Due to some switching of students, this group is now working on Level E text. We are still working with the Fountas and Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention program. Students in this group are working on spotting the vowel and reading the words accurately. We are also working on understanding what we read.
First Grade- Hawkeyes
For extra practice, you can have your student log in to Xtramath and play at home!
To log in to Xtramath.org, you will need:
my email address: Jessica.Drake@Raypec.org
your child's first name: Firstname
your child's pin number: Your child might have already memorized their four number pin, but if not, please email me and I will be happy to send it to you!
Second Grade- USA Legos
Due to the switching of students, I only have one second grade group now, the USA Legos. These students are reading text at a Level K using the Fountas and Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention program.
The students in these groups are working particularly hard to listen to themselves while reading, in order to hear any incorrect words and correct themselves if necessary. The goal is that they realize when a mistake has been made without an adult pointing it out to them.
Second Grade- Spidermen
Students are doing great practicing their addition fluency on Xtramath! We've also started playing Jeopardy! with the topic headings: 3 Digit Addition, 2 Digit Subtraction, Money, Time, and Wild. Wild includes skills like Measurement and Place Value. Students are having fun while practicing these concepts.
You are still welcome to log in and play Xtramath at home.

Fourth Grade- Blue Tigers & Minecraft Winners
Several students have moved around, so we've renamed out groups. Students in these groups have been using the Reading A-Z program. Both Groups are reading Level R text. The Reading A-Z program focuses on a single book at a time. During that time we build vocabulary, practice decoding and comprehension skills, think critically about the story, and finish with a comprehension quiz. The Blue Tigers have been reading The Story of Persepone, and the Cheetahs have been reading The Mystery of the Hidden Letter.
