This Week in Preschool....
Small Group
We added colored rice and pasta to our sensory table this week! Ask your child what colors are in the table and what the pasta shapes look like. Our class also worked with play dough to strengthen our fine motor muscles. Students used scissors, cookie cutters, and straws to create and play with the play dough. At small group this week students used counting bears and dinosaurs to sort based on color, size, etc. The students really enjoyed lining up and grouping the bears and dinosaurs.
Large Group
We learned another new song this week! Ask your child to sing "Way Up High In A Tree" with you. Our class is also learning how to march to the beat while moving our bodies in a certain way.
Communication
Folders - If you have important, time sensitive information that you need to share with us, please tell us in person, on the phone or before school starts in an email. If you place a note in your child's folder it may not be checked immediately. Remember that the green folders are for communication from your child's teacher as well as to your child's teacher.
Before and After Care - If your child attends either of these times, you will need to let us know 24 hours in advance if your child will not attend, or will need one of these services.
Before and After Care - If your child attends either of these times, you will need to let us know 24 hours in advance if your child will not attend, or will need one of these services.
Lunches - If your child will be purchasing hot lunch or milk you must let us know by 9:00 AM. The cost is $2.75 for students or 50 Cents for milk. Any questions please ask us!
Morning Routine
Please be sure to place your child's green folder in the green box every day. Their rest bag will also need to be placed on the hook matching their letter link on the windows outside the classroom. Your child's lunch box should be put in the white basket each day as well as their water bottle in the water bottle box. Doing these simple things each morning allows your child more independent opportunities throughout our day.
Independence Skills
Preschool is a great time to practice doing things independently. Daily activities such as, toileting, getting dressed, serving, etc. We are practicing these things and many more each and every day your child is at school. Please be sure to send your child in clothing that they can put on and take off by themselves. This includes being able to pull down their pants for bathroom use. Be sure to work on these tasks at home to help your child continue to grow even more!
