We have had another great week at WHMS. We are looking forward to Open House Wednesday night.
Remember - Wednesday is a two hour late opening for students. Doors will open at 9:50 Wednesday morning.

We are still missing Code of Conduct forms from many of our students. The form can be found in the Code of Conduct book or is attached to this email below.

ATTENDANCE
When your child is late or leaves early due to a doctor's appointment, please send a note with your child or email a note to mailto:madisonw@calvertnet.k12.md.us in order for the absence to be updated to a legal absence.
Students returning from an absence must be submit a note via email or to the guidance office within three days of returning to school to update the absences. The email to submit absence notes is madisonw@calvertnet.k12.md.us.

PTSO supports many programs and initiatives at WHMS. We have our first event schedule September 13th, followed by the fall dance scheduled for Friday, October 13th. We are looking for someone interested in helping with our social media and an accountant to assist with filing our taxes this fall. We have a great group of 6-7 hard working volunteer so far and would love a few more to share ideas with and get involved. Our next meeting is Thursday, September 21st from 4:30-5:30 in the WHMS Library. All are always welcome.

Join the PTSO - you will find the flyer for membership attached to this email as well as opportunities to join at Back to School night and through your child's 1st day folder. Joining does not obligate you to anything, but does help fund the many different ways PTSO supports the WHMS staff and community.
Your PTSO officers this year are Mary Rooney, Michelle Dyro, Andrea Hoover, Cheri Kline and Karen Merewitz.

Windy Hill Middle School Athletics
Soccer began last week and Volleyball will be September 18-22. Pick up will be 5pm.
Volleyball paperwork is due by September 11th.
This week soccer is Monday for 6th grade and all goalies, Tuesday 7th and 8th grades and Thursday for all players. If rain is forecasted, they will meet in the gym so be prepared with sneakers as cleats are not allowed on the gym floor. Pick up is 5pm.
Winter sports include girls basketball, boys basketball, cheerleading, poms.
Spring sports include softball, baseball, boys and girls track and unified bocce ball

DRESS CODE
Become a Volunteer
Calvert County Public Schools uses Raptor for visitors and volunteers to sign in and sign out. Volunteers must apply annually to be an approved volunteer. All volunteers will need to review the volunteer handbook and watch the volunteer training video before completing and Online Volunteer Application. Volunteers must be approved before they may begin service as a volunteer in any school buildings.

PARENT ACCOUNTS IN SCHOOLOGY
Schoology accounts for parents are view only accounts. They were created for parents who have an email address in Home Access Center (HAC). Technology Support
If students have questions about their device (laptop/computer), they can get help from a member of the CCPS IT team at helpdesk@calvertnet.k12.md.us or call 443-550-8146. Students needing assistance can also drop off their laptop in the main office and fill out a paper Help Desk ticket.
Supports are also available on the CCPS website using the Technology Support button (pictured below) on the main page. This resource provides links to submit help desk tickets, frequently asked questions, and other resources students can use to solve issues.
