Principal's Message
Earlier this year I shared a video with the staff, students, and also in my newsletter. It was a message from Ernie Johnson Jr., an NBA analyst for TNT, about finding value in everybody. The video and message was about the experiences of his son Michael. This past Friday, Michael passed away. I wanted to share a this video of a dad talking about his son. If you need a positive message or something to watch with your kids, the video below is for you! But I'll warn you, you may need to get the tissues ready.
Enjoy your weekend!

You may be wondering... How is ProgressBook different from Schoology?
Schoology is the learning management system teachers use to post daily assignments, grades, & other class resources. Monitoring your child's progress throughout the school year can be done through Schoology, where ProgressBook is the site used to view report cards at the end of each grading period. In case you're interested, here are some district-provided parent resources for Schoology.
Treats for Troops!!! The Grizzell Gives Back Club
Our goal was to collect 25 pounds of candy... we collected 187 pounds of candy. According to my calculations using the USPS website, it will cost around $420 to ship this to Soldiers' Angels Headquarters in San Antonio, Texas. So far, we have collected $29. We still need almost $400 to meet the shipping requirements. If each student would bring in $1, we could ship all of the candy that we have collected.
Here are some pictures of students weighing the candy before school and working the stations. Today is the last day for candy donations.

SOS Prevention Program Screening in Health Classes November 29th/30th
Dublin City Schools takes pride in providing a holistic education to our students, thus mental health and wellness instruction is an important part of our student’s educational experience. Mental health and wellness topics, including depression awareness and suicide prevention, take place during Health class.
The district has chosen to use the SOS Signs of Suicide® Prevention Program and Red Flags
curricula for the depression awareness and suicide prevention instruction. These programs
have proven to be successful at increasing help seeking by students who are concerned about
themselves or a friend.
