The Barnes and Noble Book Fair and Children's Concerts

Our annual Book Fair at Barnes and Noble, on Dowlen Road, is Saturday, December 14th. Story Time is at 11:00 and children begin singing at 11:30. This year's singers will be Kindergarten through 5th grade students. All proceeds will benefit our school library.

Many parents may want to take their children to Chuck E. Cheese (across the street) after the concert. If so, students and parents are responsible for their own finances. Mr. Payne will be at the restaurant until 2 PM.

Nutritious Meals Make Learning Easier and Kids Happier

Nutritious meals are available daily for a price of $1.75 for breakfast, $3.00, and $0.50 for an a la carte milk. Each student is provided a lunch account onto which money may be deposited.

Households are also encouraged to create an account in School Café (www.schoolcafe.com). From here, parents may apply for free or reduced-price meals, check account balances, make meal payments, set-up automatic alerts, and set-up automatic payments. If you need your child’s ID number, please call the school and ask to speak with the Child Nutrition Assistant.

Parents will be responsible for paying meal account balances accrued by their child.

Should a student’s meal account balance fall below $0, he/she will be allowed to charge up to negative (-) $15.00. Once the negative meal account balance limit is reached, the student will receive an ALTERNATE MEAL. Alternate meals consist of a sandwich, vegetable, and milk for lunch and cereal, fruit, and milk for breakfast. If a student is later approved for free meals, they will begin receiving meals immediately. However, the household is still responsible for paying the negative account balance incurred.

Parents can also call 409-838-4000 in order to make payments on their students' account. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Micyala Armendariz at 409-838-4000.
