Christopher Columbus was a great voyager who traveled great lengths to discover new land. In the process he discovered new animals, plants and all kinds of strange things including diseases. Such as Syphilis which was painless sores on the genital, mouth, and rectum. After a few years the subject would experience brain, heart, and nerve issues. The treatment was penicillin. His crew was infected with this disease and later died. Christopher Columbus died of Congestive Heart failure. He died an disappointed man because he felt like he was being mistreated by his King of Spain. Today we celebrate his death with a holiday, Columbus Day.
