ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 10, 2018
Severe Weather Awareness: Although we have not had a severe weather drill this year, be sure that your students and you know where to go if we happen to get any adverse weather later in the week that warrants our moving out of the classrooms.
Fire Marshall’s Report: The Fire Marshall visited last week. Overall, things looked great! We were advised to make sure that items stored within 2 feet (approx. 3 cinder blocks) of the ceiling should be moved, egress windows (the side with screen that opens) can’t be blocked, and items made of cloth MUST be flame retardant/sprayed with flame retardant. To help in the future, if you buy something for your classroom and it has a flame-retardant tag, KEEP IT of DO NOT REMOVE the tag. In addition, we have been advised not to place items in classroom hallways that can block egress and not remove fire extinguishers etc… from wall mounts or other items that are mounted to walls to fight fires.
Lobby Guard: Please continue to help remind parents that we have a new system for parents and visitors when signing in and signing out called “Lobby Guard.” You must have a driver license to use it.
Fall Pictures: Wednesday, September 12th, pictures will be taken for tracks 3 and 4. Ms. Britt has put a schedule in teacher boxes. If you need to change the schedule, please see Ms. Britt. If this involves switching specials etc… please see Ms. Fricke.
COGAT- Third grade will be taking the COGAT on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings. Please be mindful of the noise levels in the hallways during this time.
Lunch Schedule for Track 1 OUT- The lunch schedule for Track 1 OUT is posted in the PUE Master Folder under “Schedules.” Teacher coverage is posted at the bottom of the schedule. Because the TA’s schedules do not perfectly align with classroom lunchtimes, keep in mind the “day” you are asked to cover may change due to need. Either way, you will be contacted as soon as possible.
Need is often great- for instance, 400 minutes of lunch duty was covered last week due to absences/need. Approximately 40 minutes of that time were covered by teachers and 360 minutes were covered by Admin/Office/Specialists.
