WEEKLY LITURGICAL READING AND REFLECTION
Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sacred Scripture Luke 5:10-11
Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid;
from now on you will be catching men.”
When they brought their boats to the shore,
they left everything and followed him.
Message of Mercy
An Intense Desire
The primary reason for evangelizing is the love of Jesus which we have received, the experience of salvation which urges us to ever greater love of him. What kind of love would not feel the need to speak of the beloved, to point him out, to make him known? If we do not feel an intense desire to share this love, we need to pray insistently that he will once more touch our hearts.
— Evangelii Gaudium
Reflection
Do you have an intense desire to share God’s love?

This is a fundraiser whose proceeds go to the St. Gabriel Catholic Education Tuition Assistance Fund, so we like to choose one night that the school staff donate their services.
Go to the Parish Website, go under "News and Events", Lenten Fish Fry, and "click here for info" to sign up to volunteer. f you can't work that last night on March 18, but can work one of the other Fridays, that would also be great!

Snow Days Reminders
Our goal for snow/calamity days this year is to greatly simplify and be consistent in our work requirements for our students. A key piece included is that we will not give any new instruction, or new assignments.
"THE SNOW DAY 3"
- Students are expected to do work that was already assigned for the day that became a snow day. if a quiz or test was scheduled on the snow day, please post a reminder on your Snow Day page that it will be taken on the day back after the snow day. If you wish to extend that further, that is up to you, but please post that.
- No new instruction or new work or new assignments will be given. For work or homework that was already assigned, if students have questions or problems, they can ask you when they get back to school.
- Teachers post on their web pages by noon on each snow day, any news, information, instructions or changes that students and/or parents need to know about classwork, homework, or other assignments or events. Please post something that either encourages everyone to have a good day, or reminds about regular work already assigned! (Students and parents must check teacher web pages each snow day.)
- NOTE: Blizzard Bags are for new work to be assigned if our snow days are used up.
- We will discuss as a staff ahead of time how to create and use Blizzard Bags.
Also thank you for your efforts and patience and care you put into all activities for Catholic Schools week. The Career Day was awesome, special thanks to Alicia. Arts Day was very engaging and students participated well and appropriately, special thanks to Mary Glauser and Gina Wiandt. And of course the pig race has no rival, thanks to Monica, and the games on Friday morning went like roller coaster clockwork, thanks to Maureen! It seems all went well with those doing service projects, and again the buddy activities, especially the new 6th/Jr K, were a great hit with both the little and bigger kids.
This week is back to back with schedule disruptions for the students again, but I hope it still goes smoothly. Keep the children calm and alert so they can do their best. We will try to manage interruptions during the first hour and a half as best we can.
As always, give a holler if you need something and we will do our best. Maggie will be out 2 days, and Joyce and Erin will be out for 4 days, so your patience is appreciated with requests and issues that are not emergencies. Mrs. Goodfield will be helping out a couple days, so that will be good.
God bless,
Peace and courage,
Donna Lee
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
Our PPC
Please keep in your prayers Alicia Henrikson for some upcoming surgery, for quick healing and comfort.
Please keep in your prayers Meg Lose, for healing of her hand and wrist, and her eye.
Please pray for Rita Citraro and her family for comfort and healing in the loss of their father, George Latsko.
Please also keep in your prayers Erin Chalhoub, and her husband who is in recovery from recent surgery. Surgery was successful, results are good, and prayers are welcomed for plans for treatment going forward.
Let us continue to pray also for each other, as colleagues and friends, and as companions on the discipleship journey of our mission in Christ. We all in various ways have unspoken needs, cares and tribulations in our families, needing big and little prayers.
"Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle."
Please continue praying also for parents and families in our school community needing prayers. Remember those who are suffering through loss in any way in their families. Please especially pray for the children, those who are impacted by the cares and tribulations in their families, and those who are suffering their own cares and tribulations. Let them all touch our hearts.
Hope you had a wonderful weekend, have a beautiful testing week!
Peace and trust in the Father, love and kindness in Jesus, and courage and wisdom and patience in the Spirit,
Blessings,
Donna Lee
