Description
Cerebral Palsy is a disorder that affects muscle tone, movement, and motor skills. There are three types Spastic Cerebral Palsy (causes stiffness and movement difficulties), Atheoid Cerebral Palsy (leads to involuntary and uncontrolled movements), and Ataxic Cerebral Palsy (causes a disturbed sense of balance and depth perception). Is a functional birth defect.
Cause & Complications
- Brain Damage
- Occurs before or during birth
- Or during first 3-5 years
- Leads to hearing, speech, and vision problems
- Also causes learning disabilities

- Doctors follow children with symptoms closely after birth
- No cure
- Treatment, therapy, special equipment, and surgery
- Helps with symptoms
- Does not get worse over time
- Breathing, bladder, eating and learning affected over time
