Thank you to our generous Chemic Families!
Chemic Families: Thank you for the generous donations to the 2nd annual MHS Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service Food Drive sponsored by the MHS Student Council. The drive was held on Monday, January 17, 2022 and over 1,300 items were donated. Most of items were donated by MHS sports teams. The following teams were the winners of the food drive competition:
1. Girl's basketball (by a landslide, almost 400 more items)
2. Football
3. Pom (only a few items behind football)
Well done Chemics!
PROJECT 111
Parents! As you know we are talking with your teens about city driving for the month of January. Here are some basic city driving tips that would be great to talk with your young driver about!
CITY DRIVING TIPS:
- Always wear your seatbelt
- Anticipate:
a. Other drivers - Know where other cars are at all times. EX: If someone is tailgating you, you need to be aware and leave yourself MORE distance to stop so that YOU don’t get rear-ended.
b. Road conditions - Remember! The posted speed limit is for IDEAL DRIVING CONDITIONS!!!! If pavement is wet or snowy OR if there is fog – THE SPEED LIMIT MAY NOT BE SAFE!
c. Traffic signals - Stop for yellow lights – do NOT try to race through them.
Remember! Parents who TALK WITH THEIR TEENS ABOUT DRIVING . . . have much safer drivers. Please chat with your teen about these simple tips today!
