"The City Mouse and the Country Mouse" Fable (A Written Comprehension Example)
What important lesson can we learn from the characters in the story? Use details from the story in your answer?
Score of 3: The important lesson that we can learn from the characters is that eating bits of food without being afraid is better than eating fancy food while being afraid that dogs would come after you. The country mouse was happier eating his scraps of food at home, rather than eating with the city mouse in the big mansion.
Score of 2: The important lesson that we can learn from the characters is that eating bits of food without being afraid is better than eating fancy food while being afraid that dogs would come after you.
Score of 1: It is better to eat without being afraid.
