Acuity Readiness Practice Test(s)
An optional practice test has been made available to use with students before taking the Readiness Assessments. The practice tests will allow students to walk through one example of each technology-enhanced item type they might see on current and/or future Acuity Assessments. During the testing window, each student should be assigned two practice tests, one for each subject (ELA & Math).
Teachers may use the practice test answer keys provided in the Acuity Readiness Toolkit (download link below) to walk students through each problem, before administering the Acuity Readiness Assessments.
Example of how these Practice Assessments can be useful:
- On the 3rd Grade Math - Part 1 assessment, students will need to split a shape into equal parts by creating a line. This can be practiced on ELA Practice Test Question #7.
Preparation for ISTEP Part 1 (Applied Skills)
All schools are required to administer Readiness B (ELA & MA) Part 2. Schools are highly encouraged to make use of Part 2 for Readiness A and Readiness C as well. This information will be helpful for a school to determine their potential to administer ISTEP Part 1 (Applied Skills) online this year. If you determine (after taking Readiness A Part 2) that your school is not prepared for an online administration of ISTEP Part 1, it is also advisable to use Readiness B and C as part of your preparation for ISTEP the following year.
Field Testing Item(s)
McGraw Hill Education will include "Field Test Items" during the administration of the Acuity Readiness assessments. The location and number of items that could be displayed on the assessment is randomized by student.
These items are not included in the scoring of the assessment (will not affect the student's final score), and will not display in the Acuity Reports. McGraw Hill Education is using these items to help develop questions for future assessments this year and next.
