Support Hayward Public Montessori on Nov 18th

As you likely know from past communications, Silver Oak and Golden Oak are working toward a single merged school – Hayward Public Montessori School. Our merger request was submitted to the Hayward Unified School District and presented . The Trustees will vote on our request on November 18.

Sonoma SELPA (CAC) Meeting : Nov. 18th

Silver Oak is a member of the Sonoma Co. SELPA, and their Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is having a meeting on November 18, from 6-7 p.m. View the agenda and how to participate here. All meetings are open to parents, teachers, students and community members interested in special education in our schools.



The CAC's goal is to ensure that all Special Education students succeed in maximizing their potential, receive the best possible education, and have equal access to all services. The CAC serves as a liaison between Golden Oak Montessori’s SELPA as well as the Sonoma County Office of Education (SCOE), and is made up of local districts, families, community members, students, and teachers, so that all voices are heard.

No School 11/23-11/27- Thanksgiving Break

There will be no school Monday November 23 through Friday November 27 due to Thanksgiving Break. We will resume classes on Monday November 30th.

Reopening of School: WE NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU!!!

By now most of you have heard that Alameda County Department of Public Health has allowed middle and high school to open as of November 9th. We would like your feedback as we consider the reopening of school in January 2021.

Concurrent Enrollment at Chabot College (10th-12th Grade)

If your student is in 10th-12th grade and would like to take a college course at Chabot College please help them complete the process before December 10th.

DRIVE UP Food Distribution

Silver Oak has partnered with Dig Deep Farms to distribute food for any Silver Oak families in need of food donations.

This will be a DRIVE-UP event every Wednesday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at the small parking lot at the corner of Laurel Ave and Princeton St.
We will distribute dairy, frozen meats, fruits, veggies, etc.

THIS IS A CONTACTLESS EVENT!


A Silver Oak staff member will place the food donations in the trunk of your vehicle. Please do not get out of your car

Person(s) picking up food donations MUST
-Wear a mask/ face covering
-Windows must be rolled up at all times
-Leave trunk open

Absence/Tardy Reporting

If your student will be absent or tardy to a class we ask that the parent call the office 510-370-3334 option 1 or via email to Ms. Ruiz carmen@silveroakmontessori.org. Your student should also be emailing their teachers letting them know about their absence/tardy. Do not email the teachers or administrators regarding the absence.

If your student is in need of a replacement laptop or charger, please phone the office so that we can arrange a time for you to pick up the equipment.

IF YOU HAVE TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID 19, AWAITING RESULTS OR ARE EXPERIENCING ANY SYMPTOMS PLEASE STAY HOME.


The school office is open from 8:30 am through 4:30 pm by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please call the office 510-370-3334 prior to arriving to see availability.


As a reminder, while on campus you will be required to submit to a health screening, wear a mask, and keep six (6) feet social distance at all times.
