April showers and May flowers
It is staff appreciation week across Spring Lake Park Schools. I am so proud of our Woodcrest staff and the wonderful work done here to truly know each student. With care and compassion, they create the conditions for each student to learn. If you would like to join in the celebration of our staff, please do not hesitate to send a note. It goes a long way.
Despite all of our hard work to remain healthy, our schools have seen a slight increase in COVID-19 illness and related absences. As a district, we are monitoring this closely and continue to publish the numbers each week on the COVID-19 hub. Please continue to complete a health screening each day and keep your student home if any symptoms are present.
As I shared last week, Friday, May 20 will be our “¡Celebración del aprendizaje!” You will see more details about this event in upcoming communications. We look forward to seeing you all then.
May the 4th be with you,
John Franke

New or Gently Used Book Drive
Donated books can be dropped off in the Woodcrest Office during school hours. In EFL or have a large donation? Send PTO a Facebook message or email us WCSIPTO@gmail.com to arrange porch pick-up from your home.
Tax-deductible financial donations can also be made to Woodcrest PTO for the purchase of books to be used for Literacy Initiatives. Email WCSIPTO@gmail.com for more information.
Literacy Initiatives
The amount of Literacy Initiatives we can support will depend on the amount of books collected. For example, any amount of books can be used to support kids without book access at home. However, we need about 1500 books to do a successful school-wide summer ready event.
