Rainbow Review
MAY 2015

Dear Rainbow Families
It is hard to believe that the 2014-15 school year is about to come to an end. This will be our last newsletter of the school year. Additional information and reminders will be posted on our school website throughout the summer. As I complete my second month as Principal of Rainbow, I continue to be greatly impressed with the amount of community and parental support. It is evident that the priority of the community and staff is to provide a quality education for our students.
As we approach the end of the year, we also are preparing for next school year. A few parents have approached me regarding teacher requests. We do not take specific teacher requests because we need to place each child in the most beneficial academic setting. If you feel it would be helpful, you may write a letter describing the type of environment in which your child is most successful or the characteristics of a teacher to whom your child best responds. If possible, I will consider the request when making class placements. We will accept letters through the end of the day on May 22nd.
Our PTA continues to do an outstanding job supporting our teachers and students this year. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Mrs. Beth Montgomery James for her dedicated service as Rainbow’s PTA President over the past two years. She has dedicated numerous hours over the past two years as President to support our students, staff, and school community.
Mrs. Montgomery James is at the end of her service, in this role, and will be moving onto to a new role for the 2015-2016 school year with PTA. Additionally, I would like to thank all of our PTA members who will be leaving us for middle school or moving into different roles within our PTA.
Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week is May 4-8. Please join me in thanking our teachers and staff members for their hard work and dedication in making Rainbow the best it can be!
Have a wonderful summer!
