Who Revolted?
In the French Revolution, the who fought were the French people against the French Government. They both shared something common. Each group desired for fiscal and judicial reformed.
Why did they Revolt?
One of the cause was because of the social structure of the west. The peasants were unhappy because wealthy commoners aspire to political power. The peasants wanted to get rid of the last vestige feudalism so they can have the full rights of landowners and be free to increase their holdings.

A member of the Legislative Assembly and National Convention who believed in the idea of a constitutional monarchy.
Napoleon Bonaparte
A general in the french army and leader of the 1799 coup that overthrew the Directory. He also marked the end of the French Revolution.
Jacques Necker
He was a banker how served as France's director general of finance. He had high hopes of instituting reform.
How did the people overthrow the government and How did they government respond?
The peasant overthrew the government by burning the homes of tax collectors and landlords. The government made a statement of democratic principles grounded in philosophical system based on equal opportunity,freedom of speech.
