Happy New Year! I would like to extend best wishes to all for a happy and healthy new year. It’s a pleasure to see all of the children, teachers, and staff back at school after a long, well deserved break.
As we look ahead to the rest of the school year, we are unwavering in our focus to deliver the highest-quality education possible to each of your children. We do this to prepare them for a successful, productive life, empowered with the skills they need to chase their dreams.
Encourage your child to set high academic achievement goals as we enter the second semester. Also, please continue to support your child’s teachers and maintain open lines of communication between home and school.
As always, thank you for your continued support. Together we can help shape our children’s academic and social growth and development. We must never underestimate the power a home-school connection elicits. There are many exciting learning opportunities ahead, and we look forward to a successful and productive 2024.
As always, please contact the school regarding any questions you may have.

Music Notes
Hello Hairgrove Family and Friends!
It’s hard to believe it is 2024! We will kick off this year with musical review games, in all grade levels. I can’t wait to see what our dolphins remember about music and what more they will learn this year. They never cease to amaze me with their effort, creative dance moves, and beautiful singing voices. I hope you can take a moment to enjoy their musical gifts as much as I do every day. Whether it is singing, dancing, playing instruments, playing games, creating…the opportunities are endless in what your child can show you!
Thank you for sharing your amazing child/children with me!
Mrs. Courtney Cruz
News from our Hairgrove Librarian:
Dear Hairgrove Families,
The Scholastic Book Fair will be returning to the Hairgrove Library February 12-15. We will have a family night event on February 15th and look forward to seeing you at the book fair! Our book fair is a great opportunity to shop for home literacy books and also benefits our staff and students as funds earned at the fair promote school literacy activities such as our book vending machine, class book baskets, and special student awards. Please visit our fair homepage and contact me if you have any questions.

I am so grateful to be your Hairgrove librarian and appreciate your support.

Art News
Happy New Year Hairgrove artists and families! As we start this new semester of 2024, let’s take the time to challenge ourselves creatively OUTSIDE of our Art Studio walls. There are endless ideas, but here are a few to get you started.
- Draw your hand three times in different positions
- Sketch what you see outside of a window in your home
- Create a ‘Found Object’ artwork from things you discover outside
- Use different colored spices to paint an artwork

News from the Gym
Hello Parents,
Please continue to encourage your students to be active over the holidays. We look forward to seeing you all back in January. Be safe if you are traveling, and God bless you all!

Notes from Nurse Pollard:
Welcome back Dolphins & Happy New Year! Let's make 2024 the best year yet by staying healthy!
Reminders:
Vision and Hearing screenings were done at Hairgrove during the month of November. Referrals were sent with students who failed any of their screenings. If your child received a referral, please get those returned to me as soon as possible. Vision can affect learning which is why it is very important that students who need glasses wear them while in school.
Immunization catch-up schedules are ongoing. Before Christmas break immunization reminders were sent out to students that are due. Please be sure vaccinations are staying up to date and return proof of immunization to the clinic. Our goal at Hairgrove is to have 100% vaccination status and healthy students!
Students need to stay home for a fever of 100 and above. May return to school with doctor clearance or fever free for 24 hours without a fever reducer.
Pre-K and Kindergarten student parents: Please continue sending an extra set of clean clothes in the student's backpack.
