PARENT INPUT NEEDED FOR AdvancED ACCREDITATION
Dear Parents/Guardians of Lesslie Elementary School students:
During the month of November you will be receiving a link to complete a survey for our school’s accreditation review. To continuously improve, we need your feedback.
Our school and the school district are reviewed every five years to ensure we have processes and systems in place to continuously improve. For the past 10 years, Rock Hill School District has been accredited by the AdvancED organization.
Accreditation is a quality assurance process where systems, resources, and standards are evaluated by an external body to determine if the system meets applicable standards for continuous improvement. Every five years, our school and the school district participate in the accrediting review process.
The process includes collecting data from parents, students, and staff surveys, assessing school and school district processes, and reviewing standards to determine if the school and system are on the path to continuously improve.
We really need your feedback, so please take a few moments to complete the brief survey in the link below. Thank you and know that we value your opinions and appreciate your time!

Media Center Happenings:
Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair is right around the corner – November 9-16! A new feature available to parents and students this year is the digital payment option called eWallet. It allows students to shop the book fair without having to worry about bringing cash to school. For more information on eWallet, as well as our book fair Family Night on November 15, please click the link below. Also, Hugo's Reading Team will be joining us at the Book Fair at 1:00 on November 13.
If your student is participating in Read Your Way to the Big Game, please make sure he/she turns in the reading record form by November 7. We would love to have a Lesslie student win four tickets to the Carolina/Clemson game on November 24! For a copy of the form, see the link below.
From Nurse Reed:
We will have a coat drive on Nov. 12th-16th.
Rock Hill will have the gobble wobble on Nov. 17 to help support miracle park which will be a park for people with disabilities. https://gobblewobble8k.racesonline.com/
5th Grade News:
Fifth Grade Authors!
Mrs. Donovan is proud to announce that two of her students, Scottie Carnes and Madison Varnadore, were recently selected as finalists in Northwestern’s writing competition, “What’s Your Story?” Their story was titled, “The Haunting Hour.” The Northwestern Theatre department sponsors this competition each year for fourth and fifth graders in our district. Both girls will be recognized on November 16 at Northwestern Auditorium. Keep up the great writing, Scottie and Madison!
P.E. Update:
All classes have been working on soccer skills in P.E. class. For grades 3-5 this includes passing and dribbling. K-1st grade students are working on dribbling and trapping. They are doing a great job! ⚽
SWIM TIME! Fourth graders will be going for their annual swimming lessons November 5, 7-9 at the Rock Hill Aquatic Center.
