CCMS 2021-2022 Information

July 29th, 2021

Welcome Back!

Hello!

On behalf of myself and the Central Cambria Middle School faculty and staff, I would like to take this opportunity to share our excitement for our students' return on August 26th. While we are incredibly proud of what our school community accomplished last year, amidst all of the challenges presented with Covid19, we look forward to bringing students back into the classrooms for the 2021-2022 school year. The experiences that we shared last year and obstacles that we overcame as a community have prepared us and taught us to embrace change and be ready for any new challenges that we may face along the way. We look forward to a great partnership with you to ensure that your children can achieve to their highest potential.

I am sure there are many questions you may have as parents and guardians with students entering middle school for the first time or returning from a school year filled with change. This newsletter aims to provide you with important information, keep you up-to-date with changes at CCMS, and share frequently asked questions that have been asked throughout the summer.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out via email at jostrittmatter@cencam.org or by phone (814-472-6505.)

  • Pennsylvania School Health Law requires that all children have a medical exam for 6th grade. Parents are strongly encouraged to have this exam done by their family physician. You can find a copy of the Pennsylvania Department of Health Physical exam under forms on the website. Physicals can be turned in throughout the child’s 6th grade school year.

  • Students entering 7th grade for the 21-22 school year are required to have a dental exam. Parents are encouraged to have this exam done by their family dentist. Dental forms can be turned in throughout the school year. If a student needs to have a dental exam done by the school dentist, more information will be provided at a later date.

  • 7th graders are required to have the Tdap and Meningococcal (MCV4) vaccines. This is required to be done within the FIRST 5 DAYS of school. Please check with your child's doctor to ensure that these vaccines are up to date.

Back-to-School forms are available to be completed on Skyward. Log in to your Skyward Family Access account and find the forms on the left. Please complete this important task no later than August 26th, 2021 to verify school attendance for class list and scheduling purposes. In order to pick up their Chromebook on the 1st day of school, students need to have their Device Agreement signed, which is located in the Back-to-School Forms in Skyward.
Individual student schedules will be available on Skyward on August 16th if Back-to-School forms are completed and August 23rd if they are not completed by then.
Every student in the Middle School will receive a brand new HP Chromebook 11 and a Bubble II carrying case. In order for students to pick up their devices on the 1st day of school, the Back-to-School forms on Skyward must be completed. School-issued computers that malfunction due to a manufacturing defect will be repaired or replaced at no cost. Students who intentionally or negligently damage school-owned computers will be entirely responsible for the costs of replacement or repairs. If you would like to purchase insurance for the device, please navigate to https://securranty.com/cencam and enroll. The insurance plan covers unlimited repairs and replacement incidents!
