This Playlist is for the book I am reading called The Lost Boy by Dave Pelzer. It is "The inspiring sequel to the best seller A Child Called "It". It is explained by a foster kid who has never had a place to call home. He was rescued by the police from his alcoholic mother that had beaten him on the daily.

"David Pelzer writes a shining book that will take you through a journey of tears and laughter, devastation and hope just to desperately search to the love of a family."

Granted the song may talk about a boy, you look past that and realize that this kid is also looking for love. At the beginning and also throughout the book, he's looking for a family to love him and understand where he is coming from. Growing up was hard for him and no one seems to understand what he went through.

Looking from "The Mother's" perspective, she seems to think that "The Boy" needs to be in hell. She treats him so badly. She made David clean the floors with very strong cleaning supplies that made his hands blister. He used to steal food from trash cans because she never fed him food. If she even found out he got food in any way she would make him throw it all up.

Song 3: "Promises In The Dark" By Pat Benatar

David had always promised to not let anyone know the "family secret". The secret was that she beats her child. He ends up breaking the promise by telling people to pretty much save his life. He couldn't take being abused anymore. So there wasn't anything he could do other than tell Ms. Gold everything.

Song 4: "Love Is A Battlefield" By Pat Benatar

In this book David is always looking for love. He never seemed to find anything until the very end. So it all fits in with love really is a battlefield. Always fighting for love of others because he never got the right love. He continued to fight for everything deserves. A lot of people really didn't know what was going on his life until he tells his story.
