Ms. Gabos' Newsletter

Week of Monday, February 11th

This Week in Room 508:

We will be talking about friendship. The qualities of a friend, and how to treat our friends and family. We will be celebrating Valentine's Day in our classroom on Thursday with a low key Valentine exchange.
We will also begin discussing President's Day. Your children will learn the reasons we celebrate national patriotic holidays as well as the customs associated with national patriotic holidays. We will also be learning about important presidential figures George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

Early Release Day

This Wednesday, February 13th, is an early release day. We will have CAMP from 10:30-11:10 and lunch from 11:48-12:18 and will be dismissing at 12:45.

Valentine's Bags

Please have your child's Valentine's bag and Valentines brought to school by Wednesday. It would be very helpful if the Valentines were already filled out. A class list was sent home last week to help your child write their friends' names. If you need another list, please let me know and I can email you a copy.

Aggie Basketball Reading Log

Some of you with older siblings may have seen them come home with a reading log two weeks ago. The log has students write the books and pages they are reading in order to win two free Aggie Basketball tickets. Because we read so many books as a class, we are completing a class reading log instead of an individual. I will turn this class log into the library and all students in the class will receive the two tickets. Please let me know if you have any questions about this!
