A MESSAGE FROM THE 8TH GRADE PARTY PLANNING COMMITTEE
In partnership with PTO, the 8th grade party planning committee is reaching out to ask for your support in the form of donations. Your donations will go towards creating an unforgettable night for 8th graders to celebrate the end of their time in middle school. For more information please follow the link below!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO PLAN THE 8TH GRADE PARTY!
As we near the end of another great year, we are thrilled to announce that plans are underway for an incredible 8th grade celebration. In order to celebrate the achievements and milestones of our students moving on to high school, we will be hosting a Family Social followed by a student-only dance party on June 18th.
To make planning this party possible, we need parent volunteers to help plan and decorate for the party! Our next meeting will be on April 1st, at 5pm, in the HPMS Library. We would like to have our committees finalized prior to that date. Please click on the photo below that is linked to our presentation for more information about the party and planning process. Early Pick-Up Procedure
Regular attendance is crucial for students' academic success. We encourage families not to schedule appointments during school hours, although we understand that it may be unavoidable at times. If you need to pick up your student early from school, we require some time to retrieve them from their class. Kindly notify us at least ONE DAY PRIOR by calling (425)366-5105, or emailing HPAttendance@mukilteo.wednet.edu with:
- Your student's name
- Date & time of student's pick up
- Reason for leaving school early
Provided with sufficient advance notice for pick-up, we will have your student waiting for you at the main office at the specified time, saving you from waiting.
PRE-ARRANGED ABSENCES
We would like to remind you that for vacation/travel absences, a Pre-Arranged Absence Form must be filled out and returned to Student Services at least one week prior to travel. If you know that your student will be absent, please ask them to get a form from Mrs. James in Student Services or print it out at the link below. Your student will need to bring the form to each of their classes for teacher signatures, then collect a parent's signature before returning it to Student Services.
MORNING DROP-OFF PROCEDURE
Unless you have an arrangement with the school, please DO NOT drop-off students in the main parking lot during the bus turn-around from 7:35 AM to 8:30 AM.
For the safety of our students, the main parking lot is reserved for school bus drop-off only at that time. All student drop-offs must take place in the back parking lot. We appreciate your support in ensuring the safety of our students!

BOOK FAIR UPDATE
Sending a huge thank you to everyone who visited and volunteered at this year's book fair. Because of you, Mrs. Tommervik and the library have earned $988.77 to be used for new books and other library needs. We couldn't have done it without all of you. Thanks to the amazing volunteers, Jenny F, Jennifer K, Liz L, Allison N, Hillary M, Nicolene R, Rehanna M, Alicia R, Nicole A and our amazing librarian, Mrs. T.

CONGRATULATIONS HAWKS!
Please help us remind students the following guidelines and expectations for Home Games:
- Rides home must be prearranged before attending the game
- Once student enters the gym, they must remain in the gym until a ride home arrives or the game is over
- Students must remain seated in the bleachers during the game unless attending to personal needs
- Students must be responsible for their food and drinks that they take into the gym. They will be expected to clean up after themselves.
- Always remember positive cheering for all. Go Hawks!
- Parents, if you're coming to the game, please park in the back parking lot and enter through the rear doors. Game entrance (back doors) will be open at 3:30PM. The front entrance to school will be locked.

Clothing Resource via the Assistance League of Everett
Operation School Bell provides clothing to students who demonstrate financial need and attend schools in Snohomish County. McKinney – Vento Act
Are you living in or moving to a temporary place due to loss of housing or economic hardship? Did you know that if where you are staying is not fixed, regular and adequate, you may qualify for extra support from your school?
Students have a right to finish the school year at their school of origin. Contact your school if you think you might qualify for services. Learn more about the McKinney-Vento program here.

- Paid Training Provided
- Mukilteo School District will pay up to $1,000 for the successful completion of training. Most other expenses incurred by a trainee will be reimbursed at the end of 30 working days.
- Earn $31.55/hour
To be eligible you must:
- Have at least five years of experience as a driver of a passenger vehicle
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Possess a valid Washington State driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
- Possess (or obtain through training) a Commercial Drivers License
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen/and favorable FBI background check

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION IS OPEN!
Do you or someone you know have a child who will turn 5 by Aug. 31? If so, it’s almost time to register for kindergarten. Kindergarten registration BEGAN Monday, March 4, and can be done online from the kindergarten registration webpage or in-person at any elementary school office in our district between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Translated materials are available.
GOOD TO KNOW
DO YOUR STUDENTS OWE FEES AND FINES?
Our bookkeeper, Lori Gish, would like you to check if your students have fees and fines. There might be charges for lost/damaged books, club fees, or athletic uniforms that were not returned. Any fines and fees carryover from year to year. It’s best to clear these up now. Please click HERE to check your student’s account.
ACTIVITY BUS INFO
- Students must be a regular bus rider (live within the school bus boundaries)
- There are two lines of Activity Buses (a NORTH bus and a SOUTH bus).
- Students need to know their address to get on the correct bus.
- There are limited stops on the route, so it may not be your child's regular stop but somewhat close in proximity.
- Students may ask the bus drivers to find out which bus they should take and what stop they should get off.
- This is NOT your student's regular bus route. Depending on when your student's stop is, they could arrive home after 5:00PM.
- All Activity Buses leave at 4:10PM from the front of the school.
