March Pre Meeting Video
March Meeting Reminders
Prior to the March Meeting, make sure to read both February Smores and watch the March Pre-Meeting Video.
The March meeting will be March 4, 2020 at 8am at the Career Center in the IOL room.
The snack patrol for the March meting is: Rees, Smith, Sneed, Youens, Klentzman and Mata.
Marissa Meyer Author Visit
The Marissa Meyer Author visit is March 3rd from 9:30am to 10:30am at Taylor HS in the Theater. We have many 5th-12th graders attending and librarians from all grade levels are welcome to attend as well.
If you would like to have a book signed, there will be a limited signing after Mrs. Meyer finishes her presentation.
Science Books
As was explained in the video, we have been given a list of many trade books that are being referenced in the K-6 science curriculum. It would be good to talk with your Principal and Science Specialist about ways to purchase some of these books for your library to help students understand science concepts.
Little Free Libraries
Please make sure to tweet (with pictures) about the progress of your Little Free Library. When you tweet:

Destiny 17.5 Released this Week
- Destiny version 17.5 will be releasing this week.
- Hopefully you are/were able to attend the webinar on February 25th or watch the archived video.
- We will discuss the big changes at the March meeting.
District MakerSpace Funds
- Last reminder to spend your District MakerSpace Funds.
- These funds need to be spent by February 29, 2020.

TLA School Administrators Conference
Is your administrator interested in attending the TLA Conference for FREE? Administrators that attend a four hour School Administrators Conference on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, receive complementary registration to the full TLA Conference.

Setting The Trend
Setting the Trend will be June 4, 2020. This is a free blended learning experience especially for librarians and library paraprofessionals. Registration is open and make sure to let your LIS Paraprofessionals know that they can attend as well.
Attendees will receive 7 hours of Alief Professional Development when they attend.
TLA Annual Convention
The TLA Annual Convention will be March 24-27 at the George R. Brown Convention Center. If you haven't yet talked to your principal about attending, now is the time as registration is open.
Also, the convention organizers are looking for volunteers to assist with all the logistics. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the Volunteer Form.
